In regards to the two firearms used, the ME report almost looks as if it says 40 cal and .38/9mm. This would make sense as a 38 special and 9mm bullets are similar in dimensions. It would appear that in the podcast the assumption is that it's a 38, a common revolver cartridge, especially because of the lack of shell casings. However, if it were a 9mm, it would obviously eject those shell casings but a semi-automatic would be much easier to suppress, given how no neighbors reported hearing gunshots. Pow'R Ball ammo came in both varieties and I was wondering if there is any information that I'm missing here.
As an aside, even suppressed gunfire is still quite loud, so the fact that no neighbors heard anything is still astounding and odd.

Subsonic ammo through a suppressor is very quiet.

Which is true however I couldn't find any evidence that there was a Pow'r Ball subsonic nor any similar subsonic cartridge to the one described in the ME report. So it's safe to assume that at least the medium caliber bullets if suppressed, would still be relatively loud. At least loud enough to possibly disturb the neighbors. So it's incredibly weird that nobody heard a thing.
