It wasn’t anyone from the Church or anything that asked me to remove it. It was removed b/c someone felt it was a bit too much information given and I want to keep myself and others safe from figuring out who I or they are. I have made the mistake before of posting my opinion as my own name about Matt’s murder and I had people not agree with my option and let me know about it. To my understanding the healing room is still a thing at the Church they talk about it on their Church website. I would personally never go again. It was dark with candles lit and I just felt like the people praying for you were trying to force something (speaking in tongues, falling over in the Holy Spirit ex..)

Religious beliefs are a tricky thing. What seems normal to one person can be seen as outlandish to another. I don't think the rather unusual beliefs in the church are in any way directly linked to the case, but I do feel that the members of the church have generally learned to keep their beliefs, thoughts and ideas to themselves because of how they feel other's would receive them. It doesn't take much ridicule, justified or not, before people learn to keep their mouths shut. Unfortunately, this tendency towards secrecy becomes a cultural thing and the church members in general learn to not discuss matters with people who are not also a member of the church. I sincerely believe that this led to much of the silence and secrecy surrounding Matt's murder. It was probably completely unconnected to the church in any way, but since much of the family and friends were affiliated with the church they immediately fell into that mode where it's better not to talk about it with anyone. I think this is STILL an issue and that there is probably information about members of the church being suspects, or having suspicions about the way others may have acted afterwards, that continues to be hidden because of the closed nature of the church group. I hope that those people, if they exist, find their voices and start talking more publicly about Matt's murder... and I thank all the members of this forum for their posts, such as sunshine, who are willing to break that pattern and share what they know. Even if the only way to do it is anonymously.

Again, I am still catching up here. Are we referring to River Life Fellowship? I don't see anything on www.riverlifefellowship.com about the healing rooms? On a different note, why was Matt's funeral held at Central United Methodist Church if he was attending River Life Fellowship? What am I missing here?

I think his funeral was held at the other church due to being bigger in size. The healing rooms were advertised on there web site a week or so ago. With a quick look on my phone that info is gone. It could be it only shows up on the full site. If not I guess it’s been taken down. Hmmmm

Hmmmm Yes the funeral was held at a different church b/c Riverlife Fellowship could not hold the amount of people attending the funeral. The Methodist Church that the funeral was held was packed out as well, many people attending had to stand along the back of the church.

I am familiar with healing rooms and spiritual healing prayer. I was a Sozo minister for a time and witnessed some really neat stuff. But I know that sometimes things can get weird, and sometimes folks can get power trippy about it, as well as using them to forward their own religious or personal agendas.

Would the "friend" who was a pastor that talked to Freddie early on, know about the healing room and be willing to give a description to him? Has anybody reached out to the church itself to see what they say about it?
