At one point, I've heard it was about the say time and in the same year, Nascar made a large donation to the Mooresville police department in which they purchased new vehicles. I know there is some connection in this case to Nascar and a lack of investigation from the police. Someone should just see if there is any connection.

poozle Very interesting. I hadn't heard of the donation to Mooresville PD, but given their influence in the area and local economy, it doesn't surprise me. Multiple neighbors (at least three) claim that Matt's mother-in-law told them that she was dating a certain individual who is a very prominent figure in NASCAR. Obviously, I wasn't able to confirm this. Personally, I don't doubt that she told the neighbors that at the time.... that said, I don't necessarily believe she was telling the truth. On the one hand, a NASCAR conspiracy seems thoroughly far-fetched. On the other, the silence surrounding the case, on the part of the local media and the authorities, is absolutely baffling. Who knows.

Totally wish that whomever dated the gramma, past or recent, would be willing to do an interview on specifically the gramma’s character.

Not 100% sure about the donation but the police cars were marked up like some race cars for a period of time. I really don’t think it’s anything to do with donations from nascar and mother n law threats to cut funding. I tend to think the police department messed up the investigation like they did a few months prior with another murder investigation in the city known as the Witherspoon case. But at this point who knows there’s a lot that doesn’t add up. I wish the case would go cold so that someone else could look at the evidence or possibly lack there of and see all the suspects and solve this case. Matt deserves justice and it should not matter who’s feathers get ruffled for justice. I hoped when they got a new chief of police he would get to work on it and solve this awful crime but it looks like he’s going to keep tradition and go with the flow. It looks like the District Attorney’s office would also be wanting some answers. Seems like mum’s the word surrounding this case.
