I don't know if this is allowed here but Hannah just had a Facebook post about the podcast lambasting Freddie for the way he approached her to get an interview.
Her post stated "I haven’t spoken on this, and I wont speak on it again. So, hear me clearly. Many of you have heard the Unforgotten Podcast being made by Freddie Wilson. You have heard my voice, voices of my family and dear friends who have grieved the loss of my father. Who have endured paralyzing fear as day becomes night, who have cried on bathroom floors overwhelmed by pain and trauma and heartache. And you have heard voices of strangers and analysts who think they have a story to tell. Freddie Wilson himself did not know my father, nor do his so called “experts.” Our tragedy isn’t a lifetime movie. It is our life. We aren’t characters. And our story isn’t your story. But I’m not mad about it, truly. It’s sad really, that someone is so desperate to make a name for himself and have his voice heard that he would go to the extreme of slandering my loved ones names, falsifying and dramatizing the pain and trauma of a family he does not even know. And all I can think about is Jesus on the cross saying “Lord forgive them, they know not what they do,” as He suffers in pain. Y’all need to be praying the same prayer for Freddie. And I mean that.
It does sickens me, though. It sickens me that people have openly accused people I personally know and love deeply, of murdering my father who we know, for a fact, did not. It sickens me to hear people laugh at my mother for the decision she made in terror, in panic, in pain and hysteria. It sickens me that against every request made my myself, and my family to stop the podcast, he refuses to. And he used our words against us. And he uses our silence against us.
So use this. Publish this, Freddie. Or did you not want your listeners to know that you manipulated me into participating in your charade? We sat down in Savannah Georgia to record a segment on my testimony and my heart for Bettermen. But shortly into the recording, I started being interrogated. I was extremely uncomfortable. I said, “I am uncomfortable talking about this, I feel like we’ve gotten off track.” But I guess that part didn’t make the cut for the podcast.
There are many of us who spoke under the pretense of sharing our testimony, and what God has done in us and through us in our pain and our discomfort and hurting. There are many of us who have expressed we are uncomfortable and yet, he uses our vulnerability anyways.
When this podcast came out, I threw up. In my car, on my dashboard and all over my lap. Freddie Wilson lied to me. Freddie Wilson used me. He used my heartache and my pain for his gain. (Which he claims is “for us”) I couldn’t care less about me. It’s not about me at all. But I care a WHOLE LOT about my family and friends who were used the same way. Lied to, manipulated and slandered, the same way.
Myself and many others said yes to participate initially because through the tragedy and trauma and the loss of Matt Stewart, God has been SO good to us. And He is still good. And our trust and our hope is in HIM."
Just thought this was interesting and still have no idea why they are mad that Freddie just wants justice for Matt. Godspeed Freddie, I loved all the work you did.

Wow... that post is very interesting... Listening to the podcast, it seems to me that Freddie has been very fair in the way he has treated people. No way to know what transpired during personal conversations, but I don’t get that he has ever accused anyone of anything on the podcast, in fact there are times he has gone out of his way to clear up misconceptions. There are a lot of theories and assumptions that people have shared on the forum, but if anything, he has been very hush hush on his personal opinion of what may have happened. I get that everyone grieves differently, but the family’s resistance to any investigation and lack of desire to bring a killer to justice is so confounding to so many of us. For Hannah to speak out now, after all of this time is very interesting. Of no one in the family had any involvement or knowledge of what was going to happen, seems solving the case would be the best way to put those rumors to bed.
Thank you for posting! I just hope that one day there’s a resolution to all of this.

She also posted screenshots of my first message to her when the concept of the podcast was wildly different that it ended up being by June of 2018. I told her my pastor and I had talked about a podcast sharing stories of people going through hard times and that the tentative title was “Through the Darkness”. All of that was true at that time. In fact, my pastor did help with the project, even as it evolved into what it ultimately became. His voice can actually be heard in many of the promos saying “None of this stuff has ever been reported.... it’s been nine years”. Ironically, one of the reasons I ended up not including some of his commentary was all the negative reviews I was receiving, complaining that the episodes were “too religious”. The truth is, back at the beginning. I didn’t know all that I know now about Matt’s murder. This was all well before my interview with Bollinger when I found out that it took police so long to get in the house, and before my interview with Matt’s sister when I learned there was someone suspected. Hannah is entitled to her opinion, and I understand that she’s upset that the project evolved the way that it did. But the insinuation that she wasn’t well aware of this evolution before the podcast aired is verifiably not true. In fact, during that Savannah interview she references, I explained to her the evolution of the podcast. I even told her about being inspired by a similar series called “Up and Vanished” which sought to (and did) bring needed attention back to a ten year old cold case. I told her I wanted to “get the story back out there” and see if we couldn’t get something who knows more about the crime to come forward. Below is a link to a clip in which you can hear this part of our interview, my explaining the evolution of the series’ focus and her response to that. www.UNFORGOTTENPodcast.com/evolution

The family need to understand that whilst it is very much their personal tragedy, it is not only their own personal problem. Somewhere, there is a murderer on the loose who cold-bloodedly shot and stabbed a young father to death.
This isn’t aimed at any particular individual but perhaps if those closest to Matt had made more of an effort to bring the killer to justice, Freddie wouldn’t have even felt the need to do the podcast.

All I have to say is freddie.... keep doing what your doing. You are getting results for matt. I'm astonished the family remembers are scared of the killer but yet dont want him behind bars to feel safe. Wouldn't they be safer with the killer behind bars? She did this podcast with true intentions of helping her father but "someone" has talked her into believing you are doing bad. This mind set just doesn't change. This child has be manipulated into believing this.

She did this podcast with true intentions of helping her father but "someone" has talked her into believing you are doing bad. This mind set just doesn't change. This child has be manipulated into believing this. My thoughts exactly... no matter what anyone “wants”, there is a killer here. Someone murdered Matt. That someone is possibly still out there and could do it again. Since when does “family preference” factor into law enforcement. This isn’t a case of vandalism and someone choosing not to press charges. Someone lost their life. The family should not get a choice in whether or not this case is solved. If they are afraid of the killer, they would sure be safer with that person behind bars. It’s an awfully selfish choice to say they don’t want this pursued because they don’t want to have to relive the pain. If the killer is allowed to remain free, there is a risk that this could happen to another family. So while this is their story, it’s bigger than that. Don’t get me wrong... I truly feel for the innocent parties in this, but feelings don’t take away the fact that there is a dangerous person who has literally gotten away with murder.

Silence is the only way to ensure someone gets away with this... and I find it odd, that silence is exactly what the family wants in this case.

After listening to the clip (www.UNFORGOTTENPodcast.com/evolution) it sounds like she wasn't nervous or uncomfortable at all. She is only now feeling uncomfortable because she has been listening to the podcast and the facts well, would make any one uncomfortable.
I feel terrible for her being caught in the middle of all this.

So glad Freddie had that content! Of course, folks will believe what they will, but that was a great defense of the great work he’s done with this podcast!

Interesting...
When I first found this podcast I was excited to listen. True crime is my preferred genre for both podcasts and books. I happen to live in Mooresville so that certainly increased my curiosity. Full transparency - I almost quit listening after the first few episodes. My first impressions were that Freddie was biased towards the family and he wouldn’t do the story justice. I was immediately suspicious of the family and church from the first introduction of each and it didn’t sound like Freddie was going to explore or question the obvious red flags. I was pleasantly surprised that I was wrong.
Freddie, your style is a bit different. You’re not aggressive like many other podcasters, but it works and you have succeeded in my opinion. Hundreds (maybe thousands) more people now know the story of Matt Stewart and his lack of justice because of this podcast. People are aware and they are talking. Short of a ‘smoking gun’ or a confession there is NO OTHER WAY to create movement in a cold case such as this. Hold your head high, you’ve done nothing wrong.
I can empathize with Hannah, however. She certainly cares for her family and grieves the loss of her father. I can’t understand why someone who so strongly promotes her Christian values and lifestyle would publicly criticize and pass judgment on another person and their character as she did in her post. Not to mention all of the name calling in the comments (which she encouraged with the thumbs up and hearts) by some of her ‘Christian’ friends and family. Judge not,...? Seems hypocritical to me.
Justice is not balanced. It’s a double edged sword. This is about and for Matt, not his family, not the listeners, or even Freddie. The point is to get to the truth and the truth is not always pleasant.

Seriously she even said "wow, amazing!" when Freddie reveals how the other podcast was able to HELP SOLVE the other cold case.. But she doesn't agree with Freddie doing the exact same thing? Trying to solve her father's case. I will never understand the silence of this family. The only explanation that I can come up with is, that they think that the killer is no harm to anyone because they KNOW WHO THE KILLER IS, AND Matt was the only intended target. But lets be honest, they can think that all they want but if the cold blooded killer(s) could kill this innocent man. This father, this husband, son, brother.. They could and would have the heart to do it again...Even if it was (another) family member. Hannah was obviously very young when all this happened, and she has probably only heard what people want her to hear until this podcast came out. And people started giving their opinions, and their recollections, their professional opnions about this case. Of course she wants to believe there is no way her mother, or grandmother, or anyone else close to her had anything to do with this.. who would want to think that about their family. but she is smart enough to realise something doesn't add up. Especially at her age now.

Simple... the "family" has changed her mind set. The "family" wants it quiet. The "family" came down on her for what she said in the podcast and didn't approve so the "family" and the "church" has came down on her for what she shared. Bring the heat Freddie.... something you are doing is working!!!!!!

I think it’s disgusting that the family would attack Freddy! They act like they are the only victims! Until this killer is called everyone in Mooresville are the victims!!! Hannah’s attack on Freddie are disgusting! I wish she felt that way about the Killer!! The only person trying to make a name for their self is Angel! She does the music video and doesn’t even mention the killer is still loose! Freddie deserves respect for what he is doing for this community
