Look into who was working at the MPD at the time... I’ve been trying and have some information. But no connection yet. The connection Likely doesn’t work there anymore. The MIL & family are connected to a lot of people... some important ones.
But talking about it to people around here seems to upset certain people, and not because it’s “unsolved” either... it seems like they want it to disappear and I can’t understand why?

I have lived in Mooresville for several years(since right after the murder, I lived in a neighboring town prior). There are several things I know about MPD, or that I've heard, that make me feel like this may be more of an issue with MPD completely botching the case/evidence and trying to hide that, opposed to them knowing who did it or being involved. Personally I feel like MPD was, and still is, incompetent when it comes to handling crimes of this nature. Oh they are really good at writing tickets but a murder investigation of this nature, not so much. I think they left a lot of loose ends, I think they messed up evidence, I even think they have a good idea of who did it but they could never convict because of how they mishandled the case. If that info comes out, it even further weakens an already very shaky and drama filled police department, so it's easier to try to keep quiet on this case. And honestly it had been working pretty well until this podcast came along. I mean, I had never even heard of this murder until a couple of weeks ago, and unsolved crimes are a big interest to me.

I completely agree with pretty much all of the above. They made an absolute mess of the whole thing from the first minute they arrived on the scene. One thing that really annoys me is the friends’ and family’s seeming lack of desire to have the case solved. Some of the comments made in the podcast are astounding. Even Angel seems to have just moved on and let it go. I feel like if certain people had pushed and probed harder in the first place, it may have shown serious holes in the investigation at a time when mistakes could still have been rectified.
