Im afraid that his case will again go silent now that the podcast released the final episode. What else can we do?

Don’t mistake season finale with series finale.
I’m confident there will be more content coming to the feed, including maybe some bonus content, updates as new information is discovered, and an eventual return to a regular format with another season early next year.
I’m also in talks with Freddie about ways we can expand the content and the audience in the ‘off season’.
It also doesn’t hurt to bug Freddie several times a day, every day, for the rest of his life!
Also, I’m moving this thread to the podcast section, since that’s what it’s really about.

I agree, Freddie. Keep on yakking. There’ve gotta be others willing to talk. I’ve heard that the podcast community are all helpful towards new podcasters so maybe you could contact a couple of them that have done these sorts of podcasts that are willing to give you other ideas of people to talk to.

Freddie please do something to keep the interest in the case. I feel like folks are talking more now than they have in years We have to keep going I understand if you need a break but just keep something going until the new season. We got to keep the pressure building.

I may have stopped after 5 episodes, had I not started getting the intimidating phone calls.
I’m not giving up. Not even close.

Are you taping the phone calls ? Keep notes of everything that happens. If they’re smart, they’ll back off. You’re recording this for everyone to hear. They’ll be records of everything. If the guilty parties don’t want to get caught, they’ll keep their traps shut. It sounds as though you’re touching a nerve and got them a bit worried. All you need is one honest person to come forward .

Steve has been really encouraging me to continue, and that kind of badgering certainly helps, as does the kind words from all of you guys on here. So, thank you. In full transparency, the schedule I laid out initially (five episodes, once a month, from June to October) wasn't set arbitrarily. I work full time for a non-profit as one of a two person staff. My boss is gearing up for a thoroughly deserved 3 month sabbatical (after 10 years of fighting the good fight & making our community a better place), and as a result, I'll be at the helm starting in a few weeks through the end of the year. It's more than a full time job already that comes with it's own stresses and whatnot... so when it's just me, my time and energy will be extremely limited. That said, Steve and I are committed to working together to come up with additional content in the mean time that would be less time consuming for me than the 30 min episodes. I'll likely be back in 2019 for a new "season" (of sorts), IF no one else has picked the case up... and of course, that's the ideal situation; that a well respected journalist or national network swoops in and takes on this case. I feel now, more than ever, that there's a lot here to report on and I will personally be continuing to work on getting others to cover the case. If you could, PLEASE do the same. The more people reach out and request that networks, podcasters, journalists, documentarians, cover this case, the more they will realize how interested people are in seeing the case examined. For them, this is their livelihood, and they really have to know if a topic would be of interest to their audience before they sink resources into it. This Matt's case, unlike many other cold case murders, has next to nothing out there about it (i.e. no court documents, no announced suspects, no search warrants, etc). It's much easier and safer for the kind of professional we'd like to dive into Matt's case to instead cover other more accessible cases. So, we need to REALLY need to cast a wide net, and REALLY need to sell it to them. No response yet from Leah Egan. However, one quick thing you guys can do is call the Nancy Grace phone line and leave a message asking her producers to cover Matt's case. The number for her show is (909) 492-7463

Can Steve do some podcast episodes ?
I’ll let others, if interested, take on Nancy Grace. I have no problem with her, other than the fact that she only has quick snatches about cases then moves on to others.. I think you need someone a bit more determined that could put more time and effort into it. I have someone in mind that’d be great, but not sure if he’s working on anything else currently. He’s also not located in the South. I’ll try to contact him. He’s very good at responding to emails. I’ll ask him to listen to your podcast. I’ll also email a couple other podcasters that might at least do an episode or two on it. Not sure I’ll get any bites but I’ll try. So , Freddie, are you saying you’d turn this over to someone else permanently or do you just want a fill in person? I think now that it’s started, the pressure needs to continue if you ever hope to get a resolution.

First, Steve is an untalented hack who has a voice made for forums, not podcasts. As for the rest, I can say with certainty that Freddie has always been willing to get as many people involved as possible. From my first conversation with him he has always insisted that he was doing the podcast because he had been unsuccessful for months in trying to get others to take on the case. Clearly I should let freddie speak for himself on this, but I bet he'd love the idea of someone taking over who could put in the time required to bring things to the next level.

Ok, email sent to someone. Keep fingers crossed. Even if he could listen to it and do a bit of research and make a guest “ appearance”, it’d be great. I’ll let you know if I hear back.

I just tweeted to the podcast Serial. It would be crazy if they would at least look into it. Sarah Koenig is very good.

What about Payne Lindsay? I know this doesn’t fit his “Vanished” format but he would be great, too!

I've always 'accused' Freddie of taking the Payne Lindsay approach. I tend to naturally be more like Bob Ruff (Truth & Justice) and break down every little thing to the smallest detail whenever possible, so Payne's slightly secretive overview approach just leaves me wanting more detail. Sadly, this case is short on details... so the Bob Ruff approach is near impossible.
Bob only does reinvestigation of people who are likely wrongly convicted, and Payne seems to want to track down missing women... I doubt we could get them directly involved, but to get a mention on either podcast would be huge.
